The ART in FIRE

June Issue 2010

J.R. Guerra gives us an insightful look at wine and the culture that surrounds it.

There are 5 The Good Juice Stories Available:

  • Quality isn’t Sacrificed for Quantity!
McManis Family Vineyards were recently featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, as Winemakers to Watch. They over deliver in taste, and won't break the bank. So they are a great way to go with any of their wines!

  • A Pinot Noir that will Make Your Head Spin!
Pinot Noir is a favorite red of mine to drink. Sure, it compliments plenty of meals, but I like it all on its own. It’s also a red wine I drink year round, no matter how hot it gets outside. This month I’ll be talking about two different Pinot Noirs that I have been enjoying as of late. Of course, I’m sure you grow tired of reading what my opinion is, so I’ll give you a little background on the winery, and then I’ll let the experts fill you in on the details!

  • It Comes From Napa
This month, love is in the air. With love, comes Valentine’s Day and with Valentine’s Day, comes a nice dinner (and hopefully you ladies received some diamonds!). So what should you drink with that special someone while enjoying a fantastic meal? I’ve got just the answer for you, and yes, it comes from Napa. The first wine is Cain Cuve NV6. Cain Vineyard & Winery is cradled in a spectacular bowl overlooking the Napa Valley from the crest of the Spring Mountain District.

  • A Great Excuse to Try Something New- Holiday Time!
It's always this time of year when everyone is worried about pairing wine with holiday foods. Let me just start by saying that if there is a particular wine that you love drinking with dinner, and would much rather just drink that, then by all means, do so! The right wine to pair with dinner is always one that you will enjoy.

  • Screw Tops- Learn to Love ‘em
While I wait to hear back from Mr. Chris Ringland (winemaker for R Wines), let’s discuss the screw top (something you will see on many of Ringland’s wines). Screw top wines. Love them or hate them, this trend is finally starting to win over wine drinkers. I’m pleased to finally see this, as it means I don’t have to constantly tell people the advantages of screw top bottles over the traditional cork. First of all, you’re virtually guaranteed a good seal.
