To be fashionable and stylish means different things to each of us depending on many factors that surround us. What we like, how we live, the influences in our lives and most importantly who we have on our side! I’m talking about who we put on our style team! Your stylist gives you the look you want plus keeps you updated with the latest trends. This is the way we can keep up and stay in style!
Brian Cody and his team bring a bigger picture to the game of being in style. At Renaissance Salon and Day Spa you get all that and much more. They are staying up to date and stylish because they give back. In these times of hardship and struggling for many in our community, his team has come together in a way most of us have not considered. They give back in many different ways to our community as a group. Brian says that he could not have done all that he has over the past few years without their creative ideas and “giving” style.
His team consists of 50 plus independent stylists nail and skin specialist that work together at Renaissance.
A few of the projects they have done together incorporate, style fun and many generous hearts. One of the favorite events was their Old Hollywood Christmas Party. They dressed in the theme of the 20’s, 30’s and 40”s complete with hair and fashions for the event. They had a silent auction for a beautiful Christmas tree to benefit Happy Trails. Clients even got involved and donated items. They also have adopted four families and set up teams in the salon assigned to gathering items the families needed. They collected food, toys, clothing, hair products, gift cards and much more the needy families could use. The four teams were able to collect truckloads of items worth over $1,500 per team! So together, they made a difference of over $6,000 in donations. The giving didn’t just stop with the Holidays! Julie Rockerby has continued to stay close with the family her team’s adopted family and gives to them whenever she can.
Many different organizations have been part of the giving style at Renaissance. SPCA has also been on the list of those they have teamed up to help with a Food Drive. The Team collected food and took it out for them when they needed it. Red Cross was a beneficiary when they gave 25% off product and gave that back to them. Gift Cards for the Heart fund raiser and Firemen’s Ball where given by many of the team members. Baskets were made for auction items for the ImagineU Children’s Museum. They were there when the Homeless needed shampoos and conditioners. Mothering Heights was adopted by the Renaissance team, and they filled the house with toys, clothes and items for the women and their children.
They recently had the opportunity to give to the rich and famous! Ronnie Bratton was approached by Tanya Tucker. She asked him to come and style her and her three daughters, Presley, Gracelyn and Layla when they performed in Lemoore recently. The whole family got into the act on stage. Ronnie and Tanya have a mutual friend in the area. Twila has been friends with Tanya for over 20 years. Ronnie colored and styled Tanya and the two man team did all of the girls hair for their performance that night. They had quite a time! The style team of Ronnie and Brian said it was wonderful to work with them. Tanya was very gracious and loved the style that Ronnie chose for her since it was a complete reverse of the “big” hair that she usually wears. Ronnie said they have been invited back to do styles again along with other special events from Tanya!
When I asked about what impact all this giving has had on them as a team, Brian says, “Doing things together keeps us close and the feeling of giving is amazing! All of us are grateful and try to live in a positive, giving style.”
