Sound N Vision Foundation and the Tulare County Suicide Prevention Task Force have teamed up to present this amazing event for Tulare County.
Topeka, Kansas’ Andy McKee has rapidly become one of the world’s most popular solo acoustic guitar acts.
His dedicated online community has raised his YouTube video views in excess of 78 million plays and at one point he simultaneously held the #1, #2 and #3 positions for Top-Rated Videos of All Time on YouTube!
McKee also performed with Josh Groban on his most recent multi-platinum Christmas record “Noel”.
Though still in his twenties he was also awarded the Acoustic Guitar Magazine worldwide silver medal award for finger style in December 2008.
As a result of these honors, his concerts are more often than not sold-out affairs around the world. McKee’s live show is nothing short of mesmerizing. McKee’s unique skill allows him to transform the guitar from a simple stringed instrument to a dynamic calliope of sound. Andy’s deft talents give his music life through altered tunings, syncopated rhythm guitar taps, and his textural use of polyphonic tones and drones. All of these are played on both standard sized acoustic guitars and a hand-built 12 string harp-guitar.
It is safe to say that you’ve probably never heard a single acoustic guitar create such a full-bodied and beautifully captivating wave of music. Don’t miss this May 21 concert at the Visalia Convention Center.
