This March Visalia’s Sound N Vision Foundation turns 5 years old!  The non-profit foundation has enriched the valley by providing weekly music, art, and multicultural events that feature national touring artists from just about everywhere around the world.  The foundation has also raised money for various local charities and global-aid benefits.
Coming Tuesday, March 9th the SNV Foundation will throw itself a birthday party the best way they know how!  They are inviting the entire community to come on out to see one of their favorite bands of 2010.

The foundation has always prided themselves on bringing top-notch performers to town before they hit the mainstream.  An example being the time they hosted 2009 Grammy Nominees Silversun Pickups in town for just $2 a few years ago.

A couple years later a then new band from Long Beach called Delta Spirit graced the Cellar Door stage opening for Dr. Dog.  At that time both bands were playing on the same ticket for a mere $5.  The show was hailed by many SNV concert patrons as “…one of the best SNV shows ever!”

Naturally when the SNV Foundation noticed that Delta Spirit would be touring in California at the same time as the foundation’s birthday a phone call was made and arrangements were solidified for Delta Spirit to headline the Sound N Vision 5-year Anniversary show.

Nowadays Delta Spirit’s profile has grown exponentially due to the word-of-mouth buzz about their live show.  Indie rock giants The Shins asked them open numerous concerts. Delta Spirit was also invited to play big festivals and late night television spots all over America.   What followed were sold-out headlining tours of their own.

This May Delta Spirit will drop their sophomore album “History From Below”, and mark-my-words it’ll be a big deal in the music world.  The anticipation is high everywhere.
