Hmmm, laser enhancement technology is here! What will they think of next?
Wouldn’t you know it, just when drop shotting became productive for me; a new bass lure comes on the scene. It’s called LASER LURE and its high tech all the way. Scott Thompson, the president of the Visalia Bass Club, was the first to mention LASER LURE after attending a seminar at Pine Flat Lake. A couple of days later I saw it on the counter at Rack ‘Em Out Sports in Lemon Cove where Dana McGriff was giving it the onceover. Finally, I had lunch with Dave Parker, the representative for Laser Lure. Dave lives right here in Visalia, even goes to First Assembly. Imagine that, Visalia, the future fishing lure capital of the world. I’ve checked it out with three experienced bass fishermen so that you can get an idea of their thinking and be able to judge for yourself. Here are firsthand reports about the lure.
Matt Davidian: Professional Bass Fisherman
“At first glance, the Laser Lure line of baits looks like any other top end lure. When the bait hits the water is when the difference is most noticeable. The Laser Lures concept adds an internal red laser to an already impressive looking bait. The blinking red light is activated when the lure touches water and really helps draw strikes from fish that may have otherwise not bitten. “
Josh Housey: Visalia Bass Tournament Fisherman
“I like it that all of the Laser Lures are hand-crafted to perfection. The colors of the crank baits and top water baits are amazing. The crank baits have very good “rattling” action in the water. They have a very wide, slow wobble during retrieval. They also have very good “sensitivity” when they come in contact with rocks or the bottom of the area you are fishing.”
Vince Bryan, Visalia Bass Tournament Fisherman
“I met David Parker at Lake Kaweah on an evening when we had just finished fishing. This was when I was introduced to Laser Lure. This has been a fantastic bait for me and my partner. The laser lure gives me an edge in a lot of tournament fishing situations. It has a great swim reaction, has great colors, as well being handmade. I guess you can say they can light up your fishing world. It has for mine.”
LASER LURE is a water-activated, computer-controlled laser beam infused into the most realistic, lifelike lure available. LASERLURE comes in five different body styles and will produce over 80 hours of strobe action. The key is the focused, intense beam of laser light that does not diffuse as other light lure products do. LASER LURE is water-activated for maximum battery life. No switches or battery changes are required.
I’m looking forward to experiencing this unusual new approach to catching, and of course, releasing, “old mister mossback” myself. Check it out and let me know what you think.
